Pupusa favorite will stay put
December 20, 2014
Good news, Mission residents. Your pupusas are safe.
Despite the sale of its three-story building in late October, Balompié Cafe at Capp and 18th streets isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Manager Evelyn Figueroa didn’t know off hand how many more years the restaurant has on its lease but said it was good for a least a couple more. The Salvadoran restaurant, which has a sister business at 3801 Mission Street, has been in the space for 28 years.
“We’re fine right now. No worries,” Figueroa said. She did not know how the sale was impacting tenants in the apartments above, but noted that their rents are low.
According to San Francisco property records, 3345 18th Street changed hands on Oct. 31.
