Los Shucos Latin Hotdogs, one of the many businesses impacted by the huge fire at 22nd and Mission streets in January, has put their restaurant up for sale.

Earlier this the week, the tiny, brightly-colored space at 3224 ½ 22nd Street was listed on Craigslist for $229,000. Known for its Guatemalan-style hotdogs, Los Shucos suffered extensive water damage as a result of the Jan. 28 fire, which raced through a neighboring three-story building, leaving one man dead. Owner Sofia Keck told Capp Street Crap that it took a long time to repair the restaurant space but that the sale is by no means bad news.

“We have been busy catering all over the Bay Area,” she wrote in an email. “A couple of weeks ago we finally decided to put the place up for sale with the hopes of finding a larger home for Los Shucos where people can bring their friends and family, sit down to enjoy the food and maybe even have a beer.

“If we don’t sell the place or find a better spot we will probably open up again in the same location,” she added.

Either way, it looks like there will be more for fans of Los Shucos to enjoy.

“We have been working on new menu items as well,” Keck said.
