Bar done: El Tin Tan is closed

El Tin Tan, the last old school Latino bar in the neighborhood west of Mission Street, has closed.
A walk by the 16th Street bar Wednesday evening found signs removed, the door locked and an Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control notice for change of ownership in a front window.
It’s unclear what the new owners have planned. ABC records list Samantha Lee Seto Management LLC as the manager for the new venture. The transfer for an “onsale general eating place” license is still pending.
El Tin Tan’s closure comes less than two years after nearby gay bar Esta Noche, which drew a Latino crowd, shut its doors. That space is now home to cocktail bar Bond.
