Trio of robberies along Capp Street Thanksgiving week
December 1, 2014
While you were shopping for and recuperating from Thanksgiving last week, robbers were keeping themselves busy around Capp Street. According to police, there were two robberies near the intersection of 24th and Capp streets — one of which involved a kidnapping — and another at 18th Street.
The first of the 24th and Capp street robberies occurred at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 24. A woman approached the 28-year-old victim from behind and grabbed her hair while another woman went through her purse, stealing money and a cell phone. Two days later, a 22-year-old man was walking near that same intersection when someone pushed him into a silver Toyota SUV. The kidnappers drove him to Mansell Street in Visitacion Valley and let him go but took his phone, money, wallet and keys. The suspects are described as two men between the ages of 20 and 30, and an 18-year-old woman.
The third robbery occurred around 2 a.m. Friday, after two men approached another man near Capp and 18th streets and began arguing. While they argued, a third man stole the victim’s wallet, ID and key.
